Transforming with the Scorpio Moon

Welcome to December—the final chapter of 2024! 🥳✨

As we step into this last month, take a moment to reflect on how far you’ve come. This year hasn’t just stretched you—it’s pushed, pulled and nudged you out of your comfort zone in ways you didn’t expect. That kind of growth isn’t easy, but it’s transformative.

Tonight’s Scorpio New Moon is the perfect cosmic moment to alchemise these experiences into something powerful and profound.

🌑 New Moon in Scorpio ~ December 1

Under the Scorpio New Moon, emotions run deep—intense, passionate and raw. Falling on the fixed star Antares, the “heart of the scorpion,” this moon asks us to face hidden truths and lean into transformation.

Scorpio is a fixed water sign and can feel like frozen or stagnant water—heavy and overwhelming. But its true gift lies in its ability to transmute those stuck feelings into healing, growth and rebirth. Let your emotions flow freely and witness their power to transform. Movement is key so make space to dance, swim, walk or stomp - let the earth hold you as you release.

Mercury, currently retrograde and conjunct the New Moon, calls for mindful communication and reflection. Be extra gentle with yourself (and others) during this holiday season.

Take a moment to pause and reflect:

  • What truths are surfacing for you now?

  • How can you embrace them as part of your growth and transformation?

🌬️ A Taoist Breathing Practice for Emotional Release

When emotions feel overwhelming, try this Taoist breathing technique:

  1. Sit comfortably and place your hands on your lower belly (tan tien), just below the navel.

  2. Rest the tip of your tongue gently on the roof of your mouth.

  3. As you breathe in, imagine overwhelming emotions flowing down from your head, through your throat and chest, into your belly.

  4. Visualise this energy transforming in your tan tien, grounding you and strengthening your core.

Repeat for a few minutes and feel the shift—calmer, lighter and more centred.

🍵 Herbal Allies for Transformation

Scorpio thrives on depth, detoxification and rebirth. Herbs with sour or astringent qualities can help focus scattered energy, nourish the liver (our emotional regulating centre) and offer clarity.

Schisandra Berry Tea
Known as the “five-flavour fruit,” schisandra embodies balance and resilience, supporting the liver and nervous system while fostering emotional clarity.

To Make:

  • 1–2 tsp dried schisandra berries (or substitute with any citrus if unavailable)

  • 2 cups hot water

  • Honey (optional)

Steep berries for 10–15 minutes, strain and enjoy warm. Sip mindfully, and observe any shifts in mood or energy.

Wishing you an insightful and transformative new moon journey!
